Why Using a Blazer Torch Is An Advantage

Advantages of Blazer Torches

So you’re fairly to the dabbing scene. But already find yourself hooked on to it as tightly as an Alabama tick. In case you didn’t know already, dabbing can do that to a person. Not because its “addictive”, but because it's just that darn good of an experience.

While dabbing is one heck of an experience, it's not all rainbows and sunshine. Despite the blissful joys of all-day dabbing, you’ve likely also come face to face with the reality of unreliable vaporizers and/or failing torches.

Dabbing requires consistent, reliable heat. Imagine the frustration when the battery decides to die on you and the lighter just sputters. Or the spark maker stops functioning.

There are numerous ways in which that $10 store-bought garbage can decide to turn what would have been a fantastic dabbing session into a literal disappointment.

What you Need is a Good Old Blazer Torch

You need a high temperature, concentrate smoldering, butane-powered flame that works anywhere and anytime without fail. One that doesn’t sport a million different electronic components or utilize a weak battery that constantly needs recharging.

Feeling skeptical about switching over to blazer torches from your daily driver? No worries, we’ve put together this guide just for you. Read on and explore the pros and cons of making the switch.

We hope that this helps you make an informed decision.

The Pros

Unlike dry herbs, which can be ignited with any piece of junk as long as it can produce a flame, the waxy concentrate that you use in dabbing requires precision and constant heat.

Something that blazer torches can produce with remarkable efficiency.

Here are some of the pros of switching to Blazers to heat the banger.

  1. Fast, high temperatures:Blazer torches produce a consistently high temperature of flame. More importantly, they reach that temperature in very little time. Even the most basic model can produce a high of 2600F in a matter of just seconds. That’s hot enough to produce huge clouds of vape but will not scorch your wax or melt the nail like propane does.
  2. Reliable: There’s no battery to die out on you. No recharges, refills, electronic components or firmware upgrades to be bothered about. It’s an old-school mechanical device. You can rest assured that the blazer torch will power to life every time you use it. No dry firing with this device.
  3. Cheaper:Blazer torches might seem more expensive if you compare the price with cheap lighters that you bought off a gas station. But if you compare it with a high-end electronic vaporizer, it is a lot cheaper. Also, butane refills are cheaper as compared to replacement batteries. The newer torch models are extremely fuel efficient. To give you some perspective, a single butane tank lasts for almost 30-35 minutes if you have the flame at the highest setting continually. So, you will save hundreds of dollars in the span of years.
  4. Durable: Right from the lack of electronic components to the Japanese metal construction, blazer torches are more durable. This means that they outlast their electronic counterparts. One should easily last for years even with regular use.
  5. Low on maintenance:A blazer torch is ridiculously easy to maintain. All it takes is an occasional wipe-down and it looks as good as new. These torches use high-quality seals which prevent butane leakage. Anti-flare nozzles ensure that sparks and unexpected mishaps are almost unheard of.
  6. Precision: The long nozzles and the adjustable flame length allow you to target the concentrate with precision.

The cons of Blazer torches

All said and done, the blazer torch is not the be-all, end-all of dabbing vaporizers. It has some inherent qualities that might make it less suitable for certain applications.

  1. Not discreet:Despite what the manufacturer wants you to believe, you aren’t going to palm a blazer torch and light up without drawing attention. The very design makes these torches stand out and they are noisy to boot. Having said that, some of the newer models do come in smaller sizes like 6-inches. This means that you can pack them into the stash set.
  2. Temperature control:Blazer torches get hot in seconds and there’s no integrated temperature control mechanism. So, it will take a little trial and error to find the sweet spot for your dabbing needs. That can either be an advantage or a disadvantage depending on how you look at it. Some people prefer it this way while others find it too much for their comfort. Medical marijuana users, for example, find this to be a major letdown.
  3. Torching the wax: While the possibility of this occurring is extremely rare, there’s always the risk of an inexperienced user torching the wax, particularly during the early days of using a blazer torch. Like we said earlier, it will take a while to figure out the ideal time that you need to heat the wax.
  4. Comes with a learning curve: The first time we used a blazer torch, we struggled for a while to generate a flame. Would flame up instantly if we used a lighter. But no flame on its own. Took us a while to figure out that we’d overfilled the tank and the butane was being released at too fast a speed for the ignitor to spark it. Blazer torches come with a learning curve. It does take a while for you to learn how to use it to heat wax and inhale as well.

Closing Thoughts

Blazer torches will make all-day dabbing a hassle-free experience.

There are a few tiny adjustments you may need to deal with, particularly the lack of temperature control and the possibility that you might end up charring the wax in the early days. But once you get the hang of it you may never go back to your old heating methods again.
